My name is Christopher. Pronounced with the topher. I’m also known around the web as DC1974.

(Although, hey, who the heck created a dummy page on MySpace with my handle? Serves me right for not creating my own. Just so you know, I’m not some fat guy from Pittsburgh.)

I’ve blogged before. (Here. And here.) Even as early as 2002, which makes me an old head, sorta.

This time things are different.

First, we have the nifty name. Which was going to be homosaywhat.com until some porn purveyor took stole that idea as well. But Inaudible Nonsense works well too. Because … This is going to be about hearing loss and navigating an aural world as an almost-but-not-quite-deaf homo that up until the beginning of this year could actually hear pretty well. Navigating my way through new technologies and (re)learning how to communicate. And you know also practicing as an artist and designer interested in collaborative networks.

I live in Washington, DC, with my Japanese-born partner. I’ve also lived in PA, NJ, IL, TN, VA and CA. In that order. I am culturally a midwesterner with Californian tendencies and East Coast impatience.
